Yesterday we survived a wild 190ml joyride from lock at Brunsbuttel, Germany to Den Helder, Netherlands, hitting 13+ knots on waves we sailed downwind in a sporty 20 - 30 kn breeze with 8-10 swells that made us scream "Surf's up, dude!" We flew main and jib-top in daylight and overnight we dropped the main for a comfortable run down the coast dodging commercial ships and windmill farms. Fortunately, the Royal Netherlands Navy welcomed us at Koninklijke Marine Jacht Club for the night. Today we're trying to recover by riding the tides and sailing a relatively calm 60 ml jump south to Scheveningen, Den Haag. Everyone on board is healthy and still smiling ear to ear!
